I was invited to contribute my expertise on AMR and inequality to Applied Microbiology International's roundtable on the draft World Health Assembly AMR Global Action Plan update. This action plan, prompted by the 2024 UN General Assembly High-level Meeting, is the blueprint for addressing AMR globally and informs the development of National Action Plans implemented around the world.
Over the summer of 2024, I completed a UKRI Policy Internship at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). As a senior health analyst, I worked with a multidisciplinary team to assess the capability of UKHSA to respond to emerging health risks and identified gaps in national health policy. This work is included in a report that will inform the UK government and wider government bodies on preparedness for future health risks.
